Did you know that the California Highway Patrol offers training courses in motorcycle safety?The safety program, known as CMSP (California Motorcycle Safety Program) is mandatory for motorcyclists under the age of 21.Motorcyclists 21 and above in California are recommended to take the course.According to CHP, California motorcyclists are overrepresented in traffic fatalities across the state.  Safety gains have been achieved in other areas of traffic safety, but motorcyclists are still at risk.California recently legalized motorcycle lane splitting.  That term, as of January 1, 2017, is now defined in the California Vehicle Code:21658.1 (a) For the purposes of this section, “lane splitting” means driving a motorcycle, as defined in Section 400, that has two wheels in contact with the ground, between rows of stopped or moving vehicles in the same lane, including on both divided and undivided streets, roads, or highways.You can find more information about the CHP's California Motorcycle Safety Program here.For questions about your Los Angeles motorcycle accident case, the Rabbi Lawyer is ready to assist, 24/6!
