California Motorcycle Deaths Decreased in 2015

Earlier this month I discussed how May is motorcycle safety awareness month.Following up from that post, the Governor's Highway Safety Association issued its annual report of motorcycle crash statistics.The results are good for Californians:  Motorcycle deaths in California fell by 7% in 2015 compared with the prior year.Nationally, the statistics remain troubling.  More than 5,000 people were killed in motorcycle collisions in the United States in 2015.  This represents a 10% increase from 2014.Even though the numbers have gone down in California, the state still comes in second place for the most motorcycle deaths, behind Florida.  The main reason:  warmer, sunnier weather.Motorcycling requires unique skills, and the fatality rate for bikers is 26 times higher than that of passenger vehicles.  Motorcycle fatalities represented 17% of all road fatalities across the country in 2015.Experts say motorcycle crash injuries can be significantly avoided through helmet use.In fact, in California, it's the law!You can read more about the annual report here.For questions about your Los Angeles motorcycle crash case, the Rabbi Lawyer is ready to assist, 24/6!
