Los Angeles pedestrian deaths reach 20-year high

A few weeks ago, yours truly discussed how Los Angeles is the 2nd deadliest city for pedestrians in the country.

I hate being the bearer of bad news. But there is sadly more bad news in this regard. And that is, Los Angeles pedestrian deaths reached a 20-year high in 2022, according to the non-profit Streets are for Everyone.

For the first time in two plus decades, more than 300 people were killed in traffic collisions in Los Angeles. Of these numbers, 159 were pedestrians or cyclists. Approximately forty of those killed were homeless individuals.

Are these the kind of statistics we want our great city to be known-for? Absolutely not! We must do better.

As a Los Angeles personal injury and pedestrian accident attorney, I know first-hand how devastating pedestrian accidents can be. My very-first case involved a pedestrian who was lawfully crossing a crosswalk and got hit by a driver who ran a stop sign. We recently settled a six-figure pedestrian accident case after a driver negligently hit my client in Century City. There is so much negligence out there, it is unfathomable.

If you or someone you know was hurt in a Los Angeles pedestrian or bicycle accident, you have many choices at your disposal. But my office is ready to assist, 24/6.

Stay safe.
