Summertime: 100 Deadliest Days for Teen Drivers

Summer is in full swing in Southern California.

And while summer is traditionally a time when SoCal natives hit the beach, it’s also among the deadliest period of the year, especially for teen drivers.

I’ve discussed safety tips for teenage drivers on these pages in the past.  The Automobile Club (AAA) offers other important safety tips too.

It’s important to discuss safe driving habits with your teenager, if you’re the parent of one. It’s also crucial to be a good role model behind the wheel, because more is caught than taught.

As a reminder, cell phone use remains one of the most frequent causes of accidents in Los Angeles.

Earlier this year, California banned all use of handheld devices while driving, including holding the phone to access google maps.

If you’re a teenager, summer time is a great time to commit to practicing safe driving.
