Los Angeles Ranked Highest in Speed-Related Deaths

Los Angeles Ranked Highest in Speed-Related Deaths

There’s some troubling statistics for Los Angeles residents and drivers.

According to the National Safety Council, Los Angeles ranked the highest in the nation for speed-related fatalities from 2010 through 2015.

In 2015 alone, over 35,000 people were killed across the United States in vehicle crashes.

Vision Zero Network has a map with an infographic showing these alarming statistics.

According to the Council, 9 out of 10 pedestrians survived being hit by a car traveling at 20mph.  Only 1 out of 10 survived when the vehicle was driving at 40mph.

It’s frightening to think how a few miles per hour can mean the difference between life and death.

Please slow down!  You might save a life!
