You don’t have to drive very far in Los Angeles to notice the plethora of pickup trucks driving around.
Whether it’s the landscaper or gardener tending to your lawn, or any number of repairmen hauling materials to the job site, pickup trucks serve an important purpose and they’re here to stay.
According to the NHTSA, 61% of pickup truck occupants killed in collisions weren’t wearing their seat belts. That’s a devastating statistic.
The solution? “Click it or ticket!”
For whatever reason, many people are under the assumption that a pickup truck is safer than a normal car in the event of a crash. But that’s still no excuse not to wear a seat belt.
Not wearing your seat belt can have other harmful consequences-namely to a personal injury case. That’s because of the “seat-belt defense”, as discussed here.
Whether you’re driving around in your pickup truck in Los Angeles or anywhere else, or driving any car for that matter, fasten your seat belt!
